The conscious decisions that shape our identity

In Jourma's design, it is not only aesthetics that matter, but also functionality, storytelling, and the enhancement of the individual travel experience. Every visual element, from typography to color choices, is meticulously crafted to reflect our mission. Our main mission is to make your travels in Türkiye seamless, engaging, and energy-efficient.

One of the most distinctive features of Jourma's design is its custom typography, inspired by the handwritten signs found in Turkish bazaars. In this way, we integrate a handcrafted touch that adds warmth and familiarity to the design. Additionally, we have incorporated subtle design elements reminiscent of travel routes and paths. We also took into account that the typography should be eye-catching and highly readable.  

Jourma's compass-shaped logo symbolizes the desire for discovery and cultural connection. The arrow pointing to the northeast reflects the spirit of exploration, representing Türkiye’s role as a bridge between the East and the West, and our effort to bring these two regions even closer together. 

Jourma's dark-toned user interface symbolizes the spirit of adventure while also enhancing readability and energy efficiency. This is because the Dark Mode design consumes significantly less energy on OLED screens compared to light colors. This design choice will help extend battery life, ensuring an uninterrupted digital travel experience. Additionally, the choice of green as the primary accent color is due to its association with helpfulness and its lower energy consumption compared to blue. Every design decision reflects our commitment to creating a smarter and more efficient travel experience.

Every design decision in Jourma was made with care, and this is reflected in our color palette. By prioritizing black and green, we use colors that consume much less energy compared to blue and white. This not only ensures that our user interface is visually appealing, but also helps with energy savings. For example, black consumes only 60 mA, while white consumes 330 mA. Green, with 130 mA, is much more efficient than blue (240 mA). These design choices help extend the battery life for users. — Hakan Kocabas, CEO of Jourma
